Need a WordPress Designer with experience, creativity & enthusiasm?

My God, it's full of stars

Hello, I'm Luke Burford, a WordPress designer and web developer from London, now based in Bude, Cornwall. Lunamedia is my tiny but perfectly formed independent web concern where I create beautiful websites for clients with interesting projects and passion for the web.

I specialise in WordPress design and development services and work for clients from small businesses to international organisations.

Lost already? I speak geek but it's not my first language. I also provide consulting to ease you from web novice to successful site owner, and am proud to have built so many rewarding and enduring client relationships.

Make yourself at home and take a look at my services and previous projects. Already convinced? Download the client worksheet to get started, or contact me to find out more.

Selected Projects

Fine Seafood Co

Fine Seafood Co

Following a realignment and rebranding of their business, the Fine Seafood Co needed a website that positioned them in the luxury seafood niche and promoted their new range of high quality produce. The site was built in ExpressionEngine and allows the client full control over their content.

"For a complete novice in the world of web design and web build, Luke is excellent at explaining the processes he has to go through to simpletons like me! I am very pleased with the design and feel of the site. Luke was recommended to us, and we would recommend him on again."

- Alistair Ramus - Fine Seafood Co
Coast Along for WaterAid

Coast Along for WaterAid

After completing a successful earlier project for WaterAid, I was very happy to work with them again to help promote the national Coast Along event. The primary aim was to make it clear how people could get involved, raise funds and to make the sign up process as straightforward as possible.

"Lunamedia have provided us with a great WordPress customisation that looks great and meets the needs of our users. The site provides all the functionality we require, and a bit more. Luke at Lunamedia has been good at understanding our requirements and coming up with the right solutions, delivering on time and within budget."

- Joe Downie, WaterAid
BoConcept

BoConcept

I was approached by international designer furniture retailer BoConcept to provide a WordPress design that local stores could use to extend their strong global brand identity. This allows individual stores to both promote their own regional specific offers, and channel search traffic towards the parent site.

"Our experience with Luke from Lunamedia was nothing but professional. From the very first communication to the successful on-time delivery of the product we had an excellent experience. Luke was pleasantly flexible and the process was straight forward and without any drama. I would highly recommend Lunamedia."

- Brent Whitcombe, BoConcept
Litopia

Radio Litopia

A wildly successful podcasting site consisting of daily and weekly shows for the writing community (although anyone can enjoy them), Radio Litopia extends the branding I developed for the parent site at Litopia, this time using a custom WordPress design. This design accompanied a relaunch of the site in December 2010, adding more channels and 24 hour streaming.

Not Just WordPress...

Sometimes all you need is a single page static site to get your message across. If you'd like to update your pages occasionally, maybe add some latest news, you'll need a lightweight content management system like WordPress. You might have something entirely more complex in mind. I can help you choose the right approach based on extensive experience of many of the most popular web frameworks.

What's New

Local search, mobile and the technophobic client

Google estimates 20% of searches are now related to location. With the growth of mobile web search and map-based apps, small businesses can’t afford to miss out on the chance to get themselves found online.

An Icon A Day – But Not Boring Ones

Who doesn’t love a good icon repository? Not me I say. Icotrip is pumping out an icon a day, but not your usual fare; lego zombies, broken space invaders and decapitated Twitter birds all find a home there.
